Therapies for animals
Therapies
for animals
I have treated all sorts of animals from dogs, pigs, cats, cattle to budgies but mainly specialise in horses.
All animals are unable to communicate their discomfort verbally, so it is only by exhibiting their compromised physical (and sometimes emotional) state that it will become apparent that there is a problem. All animals whether a pet or a work animal will be constrained in their movement and therefore their performance, if their muscles are tight and restricted or if they are in discomfort. Animals tend to compensate to relieve pressure on the affected area and if left untreated can lead to problems developing in other areas of the body.
Therapies include:
- Emmett Technique
- Fascial Line Release
- Scar Tissue Release
- Lymphatic Drainage
- PhysioKey & Scenar Therapy
Lynne’s quiet approach with horses and her empathetic nature leads to a remarkable bond with them, and her skill as a truly connected horsewoman is a rarity these days. Similarly with people, she adopts a calm and confidence-giving approach which aids treatment and recovery. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.

EMMETT TECHNIQUE
Muscle and soft tissue release therapy

The EMMETT Technique is a unique form of body relaxation therapy for both people and animals, involving the application of light finger pressure at specific points. It is based on the belief that light touch can trigger a relaxation response in the soft tissues of the body, and that the therapist may thereby help relieve feelings of tension. Many people find they feel more at ease within their body and their emotional well being is enhanced. Animals appear more calm and at ease.
FASCIAL PLANE / MERIDIAN RELEASE
Myofascial Meridians

Fascia is a tissue within the body that forms a continuous web around all other structures, muscles, bones, organs, blood vessels, nerves hugging them all into our human form. There are serial connections of muscle and fascial tissues that wind around the body and form the Myofascial Meridians. There are twelve Myofascial Meridians in a human and through research by three Danish Vets eleven equine lines and up to now nine canine Myofascial lines that connect the body and transmit force over long distances from head to toe.
Within these Lines tension in one part of the body can affect far distant structures, like a lumber issue in a horse may be causing a pain in the left shoulder and right stifle through the connection of the Functional Line. By understanding the pathways and how the body moves in health and disease, the body can be encouraged to adjust to a new position of ease.
I have developed a way of simply showing the body by light touch in sequence where it needs to readjust. This is the same in both humans and animals.
SCAR TISSUE RELEASE
Improve movement, flexibility, blood flow and appearance

Scar Tissue Release is a pain-free, natural method of helping animals with their scars just like in people. Scar tissue in animals can take the form of visible scars through injury, surgery or branding and just like with us can take the form of invisible scars through repetitive strain injuries, for e.g. pressure from tack, kissing spine.
Treatments are carried out once any wounds or scars are healed, with the animals rarely feeling any discomfort (I will always adapt the amount of pressure used to suit the individual). Light finger pressure and light electrical stimulus (see Sanakey/Scenar information) are used to help reorganise the tissue and ease restrictions.
LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE
Boost your pets immune system

The Emmett Sequence for Lymphatic Drainage is a very specific, rhythmical treatment done in precise locations around the body to improve the movement and flow of lymph and just like in people, horses and dogs can benefit hugely from this routine.
Lymphatic Drainage for horses and dogs can be a powerful tool in your natural care arsenal.
Lymphatic drainage in the horse or dog allows the body to heal much faster when obstacles are removed from the system. It has clinical applications for numerous conditions and is best utilised in combination with the appropriate veterinary care for the following:
- Tendonitis
- Laminitis/Founder
- Pre-event/Post-event
- Pre-surgery/post-surgery
- Pregnancy
- Intermittent swollen legs, swelling in jaw or abdomen
- Lymphedema
- Injuries
- Scars
And other applications such as but not limited to:
- Senior horses & dogs
- Abused or neglected horses & dogs
- Horses and dogs who don’t have adequate access to exercise
- Just because you can…. It’s a lovely treatment for our animals just like for us!
PHYSIOKEY & SCENAR THERAPY
A breakthrough in pain relief!

These devices are innovative and highly effective pain relief technology using biofeedback neurostimulation to manage pain. They effectively and rapidly treat acute and chronic pain, can increase range of movement and promote faster healing.
I use these auto-biodaptive electrical impulse devices to detect and treat. They are the most sophisticated TENS unit imaginable with a brain and an IQ of 5000!
Unlike other types of pain relief equipment such as TENS, which only provides temporary relief by blocking pain signals, these devices trigger the brain to release the body’s own powerful pain relieving substances called endorphins into the blood stream. They also switch on the body’s natural healing mechanisms.
